MADRID, 28 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Barça beat Casademont Zaragoza (68-63) this Wednesday on matchday 13 of the Endesa League, a triumph that worked from defense and with important moments from Laprovittola, Vesley and Jokubaitis, to continue in the fight for the lead held by Barça Real Madrid.
Sarunas Jasikevicius’s men closed the 2022 league at the Palau Blaugrana –on the 30th they face Red Star in the Euroleague– with a mirror performance so far this year, to make it 10-3. The culé team had arreones to break the game but their attack was not brilliant, they were not able to kill him either and, with some disconnection, they became strong in defense against an opponent who touched the bell.
The success of three was what worked for the Catalan team, with the losses of Sanli and Higgins, in the first quarter, but later it was leaving them. The handy team did not have the initial inspiration either, but it did leave a good business card with Hlinason and Mekowulu. Barça corrected the losses and got into a game with Kuric and Vesley, but did not take advantage of their moment.
Jessup and Simanic kept the visitor’s trick at halftime (38-36) and the offensive jam became general in the third quarter. With 2/10 and 0/4 in triples for both teams, Barça found the escape with Jokubaitis, achieving the maximum income just heading into the last quarter (58-46).
Porfirio Fisac’s men hooked up with Yusta again and Barça suffered, but the visiting team didn’t get in either. At 3-10, Zaragoza remains aware of the relegation zone, while Barça responds to the triumph of leader Real Madrid (11-2) before the Clásico on January 2 at the WiZink Center.
