Barça, Real Madrid, Levante and Atlético start League F with victory

MADRID, 17 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The 2023-2024 season of the F League started this weekend without any big surprises and with the current champion, FC Barcelona, and its theoretical main rivals, Real Madrid, Levante UD and Atlético de Madrid also adding victories on the second day of the competition.

After the strike that prevented the first matchday from taking place last week and with the conflict still very latent within the Spanish team, the domestic tournament was able to begin and Barça has already added its first three points, right in the place where last season they ended their streak without losing.

Madrid CFF had surprised the team coached by Jonatan Giráldez in the last F League match last May, but this time they were unable to repeat their performance and lost 0-2 at Fernando Torres in Fuenlabrada. Despite the complications due to the state of the pitch, Barça, with Alexia Putellas as starter, won comfortably 0-2 with goals from Caroline Graham Hansen and Asisat Oshoala in the final stages of both sides.

For its part, Real Madrid was in charge of opening the action in the championship with its visit to Valencia on Friday at the Antonio Puchades, getting on track before the first minute of play with a goal from Athenea del Castillo. The excitement remained on the scoreboard until Naomie Feller scored the first three points for the Madridistas in the 72nd minute.

Furthermore, Levante UD forgot their setback in the first qualifying round of the Champions League with a 2-0 win over Sevilla, while Atlético de Madrid started firmly with a 3-0 win over Athletic Club, with a double from one of their signings, Sheila Guijarro, and the same for the world champion Eva Navarro. On the other hand, Real Sociedad debuted by losing 2-1 on their visit to the newly promoted Granada, in a match that lasted more than an hour with one less due to the expulsion of Ane Etxezarreta.

Finally, in a day where there were only victories, UDG Granadilla beat Sporting de Huelva 2-0, Betis beat Villarreal 1-0 and Levante Las Planas beat SD Eibar 1-2.
