The SER string has reported that the FC Barcelona has made effective this month a part of the liquidation that still owed to Quique Setien, sacked on August 17, 2020 three days after falling 2-8 in the quarterfinals of the Champions League before him Bayern Munich in Lisboa. The settlement is estimated at four million euros but the payment had to be made in six installments, as agreed between the parties due to the delicate economic situation of the Barça club, which was also forced to a strong salary reduction for the players.

There are now five more payments of those six left after the case was archived after the complaint of Setien and the subsequent agreement between the parties. The Cantabrian has not trained anyone else since leaving the Barça after a period of only eight months as a relief from Ernesto Valverde.
