The Roma room of Camp Nou hosted this morning a briefing organized by the FC Barcelona Foundationcon Philea and the “la Caixa” Foundationto publicize the Foundation’s projects and expose the importance of sport in development to international foundations.
Marta Segú, general director of the Barça Foundation, has participated in this conference, which has been attended by up to 80 different foundations. In her speech, Segú spoke about the importance of sport in development and stated that “sport is a magical tool for boys and girls, and we use this tool to improve their lives”. She also participated in the event Jordi Penasdirector of the Barça Museum and former director general of the Barça Foundation.
The FC Barcelona Foundation, a pioneering initiative in Spain in the field of sports created in 1994, supports vulnerable boys, girls and young people “through sport and education in values”. With programs to prevent violence, social inclusion and to access and strengthen education in collaboration with La Masiathe Foundation has more than 1.1 million beneficiaries in 34 countries and a budget of 11.5 million euros, of which the club contributes up to 0.7% of the income budget and the professional players and coaches they give 0.5% of their token.
