Jon Bakero, son of the Barça legend Jose Mari Bakero, will play in Europe starting this coming January, after ending his stage in the United States in which he defended the colors of the Chicago Fire, the Toronto FC and the Phoenix Rising.
In the absence of official confirmation, Jon Bakero will sign for him Slavia Sofia, a team from the Bulgarian first division, and will begin their adventure in the old continent. Jon Bakero, 25, began his football career at Wake Forest University (North Carolina) and managed to catapult himself to the top of college football by winning the MAC Hermann (University Ballon d’Or), the Senior Year Award and a total of 3 Suspenders. In 2018 he was chosen in the 5th position of the SuperDraft by Chicago Fire, where he played four games before being traded to Toronto FC.
After completing your first course as a professional, Bakero joined the ranks of Phoenix Rising, USL team, US Second Division. There he played two seasons and was captain, leading the Arizona team to a regular season and an Eastern Conference. Now he will seek to demonstrate his talent in Europe.
