The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Diaz Ayusoappeared this Wednesday before the media after the extraordinary meeting of its Government Council in Leganés. These statements are due to accusations of tax fraud affecting his boyfriend, Alberto González, who allegedly defrauded 350,951 euros for two consecutive years, in the context of the pandemic. These figures break down into 155,000 euros in 2020 and 195,951.41 euros in the following year. The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, calls for the resignation of the leader of the Popular Party. “It is the Treasury that owes him 600,000 euros in interest. Ayuso has criticized the Government’s actions, which he defines as an attempt to destabilize his position through personal attacks, and has stressed that the accusations against his partner are part of a “shady” matter and orchestrated by the powers of the State. In this sense, he has insisted that this is not a political case and that he has resorted to “the use of the powers of the State against an individual (in reference to the health technician)”. “I hope we all know what has happened here, because it would be very interesting to know the plot behind Moncloa and the socialist party,” he said.

The Treasury detected suspicious movements in the companies of the boyfriend of the president of Madrid due to his enrichment during the pandemic in the declarations presented in 2021 and 2022.
Alberto González’s problems with the treasury
The prosecutor points to Alberto Gonzalez for tax fraud and document falsification. According to the complaint, the health technician evaded payment of 350,951 euros to the Treasury from a network of false invoices and shell companies. The Public Ministry maintains that the boyfriend of the Madrid president committed two tax crimes provided for in article 305.1 of the Penal Code relating to Corporate Tax for the years 2020 and 2021.
According to the liquidation of the Tax Agency made public this Tuesday by elDiario.es, the fee defrauded by Ayuso’s boyfriend was, allegedly, 155,000 euros in 2020 and 195,951.41 in 2021. The investigation began following the statements presented in 2021 and 2022 that reflected an exponential increase in the companies’ turnover of the Madrid president’s boyfriend from 2020, the first year of the pandemic. That year, his sales multiplied by more than six, up to 2.3 million, according to his annual accounts. Despite this, before the Treasury he declared only 8,400 euros of profit, after recording expenses that did not correspond to reality. The crime against the Public Treasury also carries with it a fine, which can range from the mere amount defrauded to multiplying that amount by six.
