MADRID, 5 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The president of the Community, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, celebrated this Thursday that the final of the 2030 World Cup, in which Spain will be one of the venues, will be held at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium and has emphasized that the region is in one of his “best moments”.

“Today we dawn new, very good news for Madrid, that the 2030 World Cup final will have our region, our capital, as the stage, the Santiago Bernabéu,” he celebrated at the beginning of his speech in the Plenary Session of the Assembly of Madrid.

For Ayuso, this is going to be “a great opportunity for Madrid to surprise the world again” for everything it offers “to so many citizens of Spain and outside of it.”

The candidacy of Spain, Portugal and Morocco has been chosen to organize the 2030 World Cup, although Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay, which completed the rival proposal to host the tournament, will host the opening matches of the event. In this way, Spain will once again host a soccer World Cup 48 years later, together with its Iberian and African neighbors.
