Australian tennis player John Millman claimed victory in the ATP 250 tournament in Astana by beating Frenchman Adrian Mannarino in the final this Sunday, 7-5 and 6-1, and thus achieve his first professional title.
For the “aussie” the final was a bed of roses, compared to the previous meetings.
On Friday he had saved two match points against American Tommy Paul, and then in the semifinals, he made a great comeback to get rid of the American Frances Tiafoe (3-6, 6-4 and 6-4), to reach his third final on the ATP circuit.
Before that he had lost the final in Budapest in 2018, and the one in Tokyo last year.
Beating Mannarino in the previous two was key for Millman, who scored the victory in one hour and 49 minutes.
