Atlético de Madrid conquers LaLiga FC Futures with a great goal in injury time

Colchonero triumph 1-2 in the final against Real Madrid

MADRID, 29 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

This Friday, Atlético de Madrid won the title of the XXVII LaLiga FC Futures International Tournament, an under-12 category event played over three days in Maspalomas (Gran Canaria) and in whose final the colchoneros beat Real Madrid 1-2, thanks to a great goal from Marco Camarero in injury time.

To reach that stage, Real Madrid had won its ticket with a 4-0 victory against Rayo Vallecano, thanks to another stellar performance by Alberto Ruiz. Three of his goals, the first of them a penalty, allowed the merengue team to beat the great revelation of the tournament. Another goal from Mikel completed the white victory against Vallecas.

In the second semi-final, Atlético suffered to beat Betis. The rojiblancos started better due to the success of their striker Adrián and then Hugo García made it 3-0, but the green and white team pressed and closed the gap. Betis had chances to get closer, but two great saves by goalkeeper Joan Gómez ensured Atleti's qualification.

Already in the final, Real Madrid laid siege to the opponent's goal from the start and maintained their pace during the first half, but the red and white team defended forcefully and the match ended goalless at half-time. After the restart, that trend continued until Hugo García, in a quick counterattack, put Atleti ahead with a strong shot that hit the post.

The meringues still had time to react and so they did. Guided once again by Alberto Ruiz, they soon tied with a goal from him, which helped him to be the top scorer of the tournament and then to be chosen as the best player in this event in Maspalomas.

However, when it seemed that the match was going to end in a draw, an attack by Atleti culminated in a whip from Camarero from outside the area and that tied the victory for the red and whites, meaning their fourth title in the historical record of this competition.
