On the occasion of the war caused by the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, FIFA has decreed that foreigners who play in Ukrainian and Russian clubs can immediately sign at zero cost for any team. The Spanish clubs are studying the situation and, specifically, Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid have set their sights on the same footballer. This is Vinicius Augusto Tobias da SilvaBrazilian right back born on February 23, 2004, who signed last January for Shakhtar Donetsk.
The player that Madrid and Atleti want is known as Vinicius Tobias and he is one of the most promising right-backs in Brazil. Shakhtar signed him from Internacional de Porto Alegre. He has been international Under-16 in 7 occasions.
Atlético wants to bring him on loan for the subsidiary but it would come in the dynamics of the first team, that is, with options to play minutes with Simeone given the shortcomings he has in the right-back position due to Trippier’s departure and Vrsaljko’s injury, which forces Marcos Llorente to play in a position in which he does not like to act, and so he has communicated it to the club.
Real Madrid has been following Vinicius Tobias for a couple of seasons. It already sounded like the white club was interested in him along with United and City and in the end Shakhtar Donetsk ended up signing him. Madrid would also bring him to Castilla with first-team dynamics. Precisely the white team only has a specialist as a right back in the first squad, which is Dani Carvajal. Lucas Vázquez has readapted to that position and is the replacement for Carvajal and the wild card Nacho or Militao, even Valverde, in an emergency they could act in place of Dani.
Both Madrid and Atleti would seek a loan until the end of the season. The recruitment departments of both clubs have got down to work once FIFA announced the possibility of signing foreign players from Russian and Ukrainian teams to study the real possibilities that there are in the Ukrainian and Russian clubs of footballers who can perform in his subsidiary or in the first team and, as both need to reinforce the right back, both have set their sights on Vinicius Tobias.
