Athletic Club has requested this Friday the Administrative Court of Sport (TAD) to temporarily suspend the one-match sanction imposed on defender Yeray Álvarez, after the Appeals Committee of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) dismissed the previous appeal .
“After the dismissal by the Appeals Committee of the appeal filed against the red card shown to Yeray Álvarez in the last league match against Real Sociedad, Athletic Club has filed an appeal before the Sports Administrative Court (TAD), requesting the adoption immediate precautionary measure that suspends the sanction imposed for a match”, reported the Basque club.
Barakaldo’s central defender was sent off in the 60th minute of the Basque derby against Real Sociedad at the Reale Arena, in an action in which he brought down Take Kubo in the area and was sent off by the Catalan referee Medié Jiménez; Mikel Oyarzabal scored the resulting penalty to make it 3-1.
In case of receiving the precautionary measure, Yeray could play the LaLiga Santander match that Ernesto Valverde’s team will play this Sunday against Real Madrid in San Mamés (9:00 p.m.).
