Atalanta-Villarreal postponed due to snow!

Faced with the heavy snowfalls in Bergamo, Atalanta-Villarreal will not be played this Wednesday, but will be played this Thursday. First, the start of the game was delayed: instead of starting at 9:00 p.m., it was going to start at 9:20 p.m. to try to clear the pitch of snow. Finally, the meeting was postponed to this Thursday, at a time yet to be determined.

In principle, the referee in charge of whistling the game between Villarreal and Atalanta, the Englishman Anthony Taylor, had decided, in agreement with UEFA, that, despite the snow that fell, the field met the conditions for the match to be played. Later, however, he ended up opting for postponement.

Atalanta and Villarreal will play in this match the pass to the round of 16 in this group F. Those from Bergamo need to win, while one point is enough for the Europa League champion to reach the next round of the Champions League for the third time in their history. Manchester United, who this Wednesday faces Young Boys, arrived on this last day classified as first in the group.
