Mikel Arteta, Arsenal manager, who did not want Mesut Özil in his team, surprised by stating, now that the German international will continue his career at Fenerbahçe, that “we will miss him, we will miss his quality”.
Arteta made these remarks after the victory of the ‘gunner’ team last Monday against Newcastle (3-0). The Arsenal manager also said about Özil, 32, that “he is a very special player who has a great history at this club.”
Özil, for his part, declared in Istanbul “excited” to be able to defend the Fenerbahçe shirt, my dream comes true because I have been a fan of this team since I was a child ”.
Arsène Wenger, who signed him in 2013 for Arsenal from Real Madrid when he was the 'gunner' coach, affirmed that he is “happy that he is playing again, he must have felt very frustrated without doing so, he must have a great hunger for the ball, he needs a warm atmosphere of fans and he will do well at Fenerbahçe, in 3 or 4 games he will be at his best ”.
