Arrasate: “We are not used to playing eleven games in five weeks”

Osasuna's coach, Jagoba Arrasate, has pointed out that if his team manages to reach 40 points in the classification “they will surely have the objective set at the beginning of the season, even though what they want right now is to find their“ competitive version ”.

The Basque coach announced at the virtual press conference offered to the media that both Kike Barja and Rober Ibáñez will not be available for the match against Real Sociedad due to injury, while also commenting that, if Fran Mérida, Roncaglia and Moncayola complete tomorrow's session, “may be in the call.”

“In a preseason we have the indicators of the friendly matches to know how you are and now we don't have all that,” said Arrasate on how he thinks his team will return to the competition.

Regarding the risk of injury that his squad will have to face in a month full of games, Berriatúa has said that “it increases when you play every three days, it is normal.”

“We are not used to playing eleven games in five weeks and it will surely be a toll we have to pay,” he added.

“I see the team training and I think it is very good,” said the coach, who acknowledged, however, that “you never know how you are after three months of hiatus.”

“We know the potential of Real, they are fourth on their own merits and to get something positive, we will need our best version beyond that they do not have their best day,” he said.

Facing his former team “is special, I have always been a member of Real and I am still a subscriber”, and therefore he expects a “different” game when playing behind closed doors.

Arrasate has said that his club is motivated “by the restart and especially to endorse” the good work done in the League to date with the aim of staying as a goal.

“People take it for granted that you are going to achieve permanence, but we know that Primera is very demanding and that in this situation of uncertainty this increases,” added the coach about the goal of the rojillos.

Of the possibility of making 5 changes during the matches, the coach of the Navarrese team has said that it is something “significant, since you can change to half eleven”.

“The game plan varies with that because we know that in some positions the fact of holding 90 minutes at a high level is practically impossible and that is why we must take advantage of it,” said Arrasate, two days after facing the people of San Sebastian.

The Basque hopes to “minimize Real Sociedad, but also sink his teeth”, so his team must harm him after having conceded 7 goals in the two official matches played this season.

Arrasate has said that Osasuna entered the break “with a good feeling after winning a key match against Espanyol”, while accepting that, in the last days played, his team was being “less dynamic, without generating as much” .

“The atmosphere that had been created in the Reale Arena with the new reform was being special”, Arrasate has praised his exacerbation on a factor “that surely they will notice”.

From the match played between Sevilla and Betis, he highlighted the intensity and the pace imposed by the locals “showing a very high level” after three months without playing.

Regarding Chimy Ávila, a seriously injured player who continues to recover individually in Tajonar, Arrasate has said that he does not expect to be able to see him play this season again before the end of his intervention, commenting that they did not imagine “that he could be so well at this point” .
