Antonio Cordón would come with Pellegrini to Betis

Antonio Cordón could be the new sports director of Real Betis, which would come from the hand of the Chilean coach Manuel Pellegrini, who would sign for two seasons for the Verdiblanco club, according to Radio Marca, although Cordón has a current contract with the Ecuadorian Federation of Soccer and it will not be easy to start it from there, according to MD sources from the Betis club.

Antonio Cordón, currently sports director of the Ecuadorian Football Federation, has already met Pellegrini in the successful stage of both at Villarreal. Cordón, until a few months ago, was part of the Chinese group Hope, with which he worked for three seasons and with which he controlled four clubs such as Granada, Parma, Chongqing Lifan and Portuguese Tondela, chaired by ex-Betic David Belenguer.

Cordón, 56, spent several seasons at the helm of Villarreal's sports management and then moved to French Monaco before joining the Hope group. His name was tested by Sevilla FC -as well as Pellegrini- to replace Monchi's departure for Rome in early 2018, although his strong relationship with the Chinese group at that time prevented it.

Antonio Cordón Ruiz (Badajoz, December 19, 1963) is an International Master in Sports Law and Management and is one of the most reputable sports directors currently on the market.
