Maria, Pablo Larraín’s film competing for the Golden Lion, is the story of Maria Callas in the skin of the American who relives the last days of the artist in her home in Paris. With this film, whose rights have been acquired by Netflix, the director closes his trilogy of women who had everything (love, success and beauty) but were broken. Along with Callas, Jackie (2016) about Jackie Kennedy; and Spencer (2021) by Diana, Princess of Wales.
Upon her arrival at the Lido Cinema Palace, Jolie signed autographs and took photos with her fans. She was accompanied on the red carpet by Larraín, in a tuxedo, and her co-stars, Dawn Rohrwacher, who plays a member of the service who lived with Maria Callas in her last days in the French capital and who opted for a black dress with puffed sleeves and a light train by Christian Dior that left all the limelight to a fabulous diamond necklace.
