The Spanish couple formed by Pablo Andújar and Pedro Martínez advanced this Monday to doubles semifinals at Roland Garros, after hitting the Indian Roha Bopanna and the Croatian Franko Skugor 7-5 and 6-3 in one hour and 17 minutes.
The Spanish duo will meet in the semifinals the winner of the match between the pair formed by the Monegasque Hugo Nys and the German Tim Puetz and the Kazakhs Alexander Bublik and Andrey Gobulev. “It was a surprise for both of us to reach the semifinals, I knew we could get on well, now we are going game by game,” said Andújar, 35 years old.
For Martínez, 24 years old, it is being very positive to learn from the experience of a tennis player whom he “admires” like Andújar and assured that they do not think of a hypothetical final, because in tennis “when you think beyond that, you are dead”.
