Andere Leguina has decided to hang up gloves at the end of this season. The goalkeeper from Getxo, 32 years old, has been linked to the discipline of the Bilbao club for 13 seasons. Throughout this time in Lezama he has been able to graduate and practice outside football as a Telecommunications Engineer.
The red-and-white goalkeeper, as Athletic himself explains, is one of the footballers who has competed with the first team for the longest seasons. Andere debuted at just 17 years of age in the 2006-2007 season at the hands of Iñigo Juaristi against Lagunak, although he arrived with 15 (in 2003) to play with the subsidiary a year after the creation of the women's team. In the beginning he shared the goal with Eli Capa and with Uguzne Mezo.
Ainhoa Tirapu, the red-and-white goalkeeper with whom he has been training the longest, arrived in Lezama in 2005. “The Navarrese -explains Athletic- retired last year and now it is Andere who closes a long cycle in which he achieved the Leagues of 2003-2004 and 2006-2007 ”. In the 2011-2012 season,The Getxo left the club and spent three seasons at SD San Ignacio and one at Madrid CFF to return to Lezama in 2016.
Andere has been 13 seasons in total in the first team, in which he has played 46 official matches (42 in the League and two in the Cup) The one from Getxo is a goalkeeper with “great footwork, agile and skilled in 1 × 1 actions”.
