Ancelotti: “You can fight for all competitions”

“We don’t have a single way to play, it’s the strength of this team”

MADRID, 16 One. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The coach of Real Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti, left the Spanish Super Cup this Sunday happy for the title, after beating Athletic Club (0-2), and for the impression of having a “strong” team that is going to “fight for all competitions.

“With the two games we’ve played here we came out deserving of winning the title. Today I demanded a different type of game, we played well for 70 minutes, controlling possession, then we went down a bit but it can happen in a final,” he said at a press conference .

The Italian coach highlighted the level he sees in his team to be able to aspire to a successful season. “We are going to compete, for me to be here is lucky. We are going to fight for the other competitions,” he said.

“I’m left with many things, with a very good team, a good atmosphere, a good squad, with the strength that can be fought to compete in all competitions, a team that I like to see play because we don’t have just one way to play, is the strength of this team,” he added.

In addition, Ancelotti was asked about any difference between his first and second teams now as Madrid coach in two different stages. “They are different players but the same high quality. Cristiano is not there but Vinicius is doing very well. We played a little differently than the first stage, but not more proud, the proud man is always at his best here,” he said.

“Winning is the end of the job. Winning means you’ve done a good job. Sometimes it’s not like that. I’ve done a good job at Napoli or Everton and I haven’t won anything. For people, winning means you’ve been successful. I know that sometimes you can’t always win because sometimes you tie or lose,” he concluded.
