The Real Madrid coach, focused on polishing the team in preseason with a Bellingham who points to the key
MADRID, 20 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Real Madrid coach, Carlo Ancelotti, explained that the “squad” of the white box “has improved” despite the departure of Karim Benzema, with quality reinforcements and a special mention for Jude Bellingham, in search of a new system since the preseason that began this Thursday in Los Angeles (United States).
“Very happy, what has come is going to help us bring quality to the squad. Fran García is going to cover the left wing very well where we had problems last year. Joselu can give us a little more in the air. Güler is very talented and he’s very young, the fans are going to enjoy this player. Bellingham is a great interior and he has quality that we don’t have, a very good arrival,” he told the media at the American camp.
The Italian coach pointed to the English player as a key figure in the search for a new system, within a team that can aspire to everything with a single striker. “The roster has improved, I want to try something new and if it doesn’t go well we have the old system that has given us a lot of success in the past,” he said.
“Champions, League, Cup, Spanish Super Cup, these are the objectives, as always, nothing has changed. It will always be like this, to fight and compete for all the objectives. Yes (you can fight for everything with just one striker). It is true that we have always played with a striker who was not pure, who was Karim, but you can change, adapt the system to the players we have,” he said.
“A player has arrived who can bring us a lot, which is Bellingham and we will try to adapt his characteristics to the new system,” he added, without wanting to talk about the PSG striker Mbappé.
In the same way, Ancelotti wanted to settle the rumors about the option of directing the Brazilian team if the season with Madrid does not go well or if he does not renew another year. “I won’t talk about Brazil anymore. I’m the coach of Real Madrid and I have a contract until 2024. I’m in no rush to renew. I have total confidence in this club, a season has to go by and see what happens, I think the season will go well,” he said.
“We have lost a fundamental player like Karim but the squad has improved. We have a very young group that is going to give us a lot of joy. I am happy in Los Angeles, to train well and with competitive games, there are many things to see in these 10 days, they have all returned in good condition”, he settled.
