Ana Tejada signs for the Utah Royals of the NWSL

MADRID, 23 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Spanish defender Ana Tejada, until now in the ranks of Real Sociedad, will play for the Utah Royals of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), the highest women’s soccer category in the United States, after signing a three-year contract, with option for a fourth, which will make him immediately leave the San Sebastian team.

“Hello, Utah! It’s a pleasure to meet you. I can’t wait to be there and enjoy with all of you. Let’s go!” the 21-year-old from Logroño said on social media. “Ana is a defender who has shown tremendous talent at a young age and we are excited to help her continue that development,” said Utah Royals Athletic Director Kelly Cousins.

Tejada made her professional debut at the age of 15 for Dux Logroño, with which she achieved promotion to the top division in 2018 to become the youngest player in the F League.

In 2019, she signed for Real Sociedad, with whom she has played 95 games and which has allowed her to be called up by the senior Spanish women’s team – with which she made her debut in a friendly against Argentina in 2022. This season, Tejada has participated in 17 games, in 13 of them as a starter.
