Amari Cooper, a star for the Browns, breaks a game record and becomes only the second individual in NFL history to do so.

The most important thing we learned about the Browns on Sunday was that Amari Cooper seems to be very close with Joe Flacco. Cooper had a good game in Cleveland’s 36-22 win over the Houston Texans, even though Flacco was in charge.

After everything was said and done, Cooper set the Browns’ team record for most receptions.

He caught 11 passes and scored two scores, going for 265 yards. In the second quarter, he scored on a 75-yard catch that giving the Browns an early 14-0 lead.

Josh Gordon set the previous club record of 261 yards in 2013. Cooper beat that mark. Along with Gordon, Cooper is now the only player in Browns history to have rushed for 200 yards in a game. Gordon did it twice.

Cooper also made history in the NFL. With his receiving total, the pro has now topped 200 yards alongside three different teams. He is only the second player in NFL history to do so, after Terrell Owens.

Before Sunday, Cooper had never thrown for 200 yards with the Browns. He had done it before via the Raiders and the Cowboys. Owens got over 200 yards with the 49ers, the Cowboys, and the Bengals.

Amari Cooper worked hard all through the last period to get back in the game. It wasn’t to beat the Cleveland Browns’ record for most catching yards in a game; it was to get more than 300.

“Man, there was still a lot of time. Cooper said, “There was a lot of food on the plate there.” He sat for most of the last period with 252 receiving yards and a 36-7 lead. “So yeah, I did feel anxious slightly bit, for sure.”

It was only fitting that Cooper made the catch that almost sealed the win. The Browns took a big step toward making the playoffs for the first time since 2020.

He came close to 300. He could only get 265 yards, which is a new Browns record for most yards in a single game.

The Texans scored one late touchdowns, one after an onside kick, to make the result of Sunday’s game uncertain again.

Cooper got his wish, came back into the game, and did what he had been doing all afternoon: he delivered.

Cooper caught a 13-yard pass on fourth-and-7 to break the team record that Josh Gordon had set in 2013 (261 yards). This helped Cleveland hold off Houston’s late comeback and win 36–22.

It was easy for me to believe I could get to 300 yards because of the way the game was going. He told her, “I’m not going to lie to you.” “But it turned out cool; I’m glad we got the dub.”

Cooper also topped 1,000 yards for the season on Sunday. He was the first player in Cleveland history to do that in back-to-back years.

Cooper had a great first year while playing for the Browns in 2022, with 1,160 yards catching. He has now gained 1,250 yards and still has two games to go in the season.
