“We are very happy, it represents a turning point in women’s football. We are finally a professional league, it is what we have been fighting for a long time. Right now we are joining the First and Second Men’s and ACB, it is very important to pave the way to other women’s sports. It is a very beautiful and important moment for women’s football in Spain”, stressed Sampedro after the act following the CSD Board of Directors that has approved the statutes of that first professional league of Spanish women’s football.

The message that we all have to go together to continue growing is important, that is the way. Things are being done well, hopefully all the meetings that come now and it won’t be easy to get out in the best way possible,” he stressed.

Sampedro believes that the next step is “to cover the most important patches.” “That all the teams have medical equipment and we can be treated on the field with the maximum possible guarantees. From there, infrastructures, television rights are covered… Football belongs to the fans, who have to enjoy women’s football” , argued about the process that is beginning now to shape the new entity that will govern the first professional league of Spanish women’s soccer.

“The issue of infrastructure is important, that all the teams have medical equipment, health is above all else. Playing on a field in the best conditions will reduce the risk of injury. That will make us grow in health, performance and will make our league more attractive. It will enrich us, it will make many people join women’s football”, concluded the footballer.
