Almeida’s ‘Earth swallow me’ moment with Pope Francis: “The heir of the great Manuela”

However, the mayor of the capital has decided to ignore this moment and has shared two photographs of his meeting with the Holy Father. “Today, in audience with Pope Francis in the Vatican. I have conveyed to him the gratitude and affection of the capital of Spain for granting us the Holy Year of San Isidro, patron saint of Madrid, which we celebrate on the occasion of the 400th anniversary of his canonization” Almeida wrote on his Twitter profile.
