The mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, lamented this Saturday the “irreparable loss” of the “exceptional” actress Concha Velasco and assured that the City Council will pay her “the tribute she deserves.”
“Allow me to convey my condolences to the entire family and loved ones of Concha Velasco, who will always remain in our memory,” said the councilor during his visit to the Aladina Foundation Christmas market in the capital.
In statements to the media, he highlighted the figure of Velasco as the gold medalist of the city of Madrid in 2018 and celebrated the “absolutely unforgettable” memory that he leaves in the hearts of all Spaniards.
“Her death is a disgrace, because it leaves us very alone, but it will certainly transcend,” he noted, thanking the artist for “everything she has done.”
“From the City Council, we are going to organize the tribute she deserves for everything she has done, for all the good times she has given us, for being an extraordinary and exceptional artist,” the mayor concluded.
