Big day for the princess Leonor in Cadiz. After three days in the Andalusian city acclimatizing to life on the ship, the heir to the throne and the rest of her fellow midshipmen will set sail this Saturday, January 11 on the training ship Juan Sebastián de Elcano, a voyage that will last six months and where they will visit eight countries.
After the arrival of the midshipmen at the Church of Santo Domingo, Philip VI and Queen Letizia went to the Cádiz dock at 11 in the morning to preside over the farewell ceremony for the Elcano training ship. Minutes later, at 11:10, the Minister of Defense arrived, Margarita Robleswho, upon her arrival, was booed by family members.
For their part, Their Majesties were received by the commander and saluted the flag. Subsequently, they greeted the midshipmen, Princess Leonor’s companions.
For the occasion, Mr. Felipe came with the Navy uniform while Mrs. Letizia opted for a navy blue look, a very significant color, since it embodies the spirit of the Navy.
