Alexis Ruiz and Julio Vilas, news in the selection for the Madrid European chair basketball

MADRID, 26 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Abraham Carrión provided his first list as Spanish men’s wheelchair basketball coach on Monday with the call of his 12 players to face the Madrid European Championship, which will be played between December 4 and 12, and with the news of Alexis Ruiz and Julio Vilas.

The FDI Las Rozas Foundation player and the Iberconsa Amfiv player are the only changes that the Andalusian coach has introduced compared to the twelve who were in Tokyo last summer playing the Paralympic Games, taking the place of Alejandro Zarzuela and Amadou Diallo.

The summoned list is made up of Fran Lara and Oscar Onrubia (Amiab Albacete), Agustín Alejos and Julio Vilas (Iberconsa Amfiv), Daniel Stix and Pablo Zarzuela (Ilunion), Asier García, David Mouriz and Manuel Lorenzo (Bidaideak Bilbao), Jordi Ruiz (Thuringia Bulls), Alexis Ruiz and Ignacio Ortega (Alabama WB).

“I am very excited about this opportunity because it is a challenge and a very great responsibility to face this European with the Spanish team. We are going to leave our skin to give the maximum performance and bring joy to the fans,” said Carrión in statements provided by the Spanish Federation of Sports for People with Physical Disabilities (FEDDF).

The twelve chosen by the new coach will be concentrated in the Madrid High Performance Center from November 15 to 19 and from November 23 to December 1 before facing the appointment.
