The doors of ‘El Hormiguero 3.0’ open to receive the best soccer player in the world, the midfielder and the captain of Barcelona and the Spanish women’s team, Alexia Putellas. The athlete is the first time she steps on the set of the Pablo Motos program.
Alexia acknowledged in the interview on Antena 3 that “there are a lot of expectations for us. That means that people are enthusiastic, that they are full of us. But you have to keep your feet on the ground.”
Putellas still can’t believe he won the Ballon d’Or: “Even today I still can’t believe it. Everything goes so fast that you think only of tomorrow and, all of a sudden, you realize that you are 28 years old with all these triumphs, but I want to continue earning more“.
It was not an easy trip to get to Paris, where the award ceremony was taking place: “In the morning I was in a concentration training. When I finished we took a plane to the ceremony and when it was over, I returned to the concentration, since the next day we had a match. On top of that, it was very important because it was for the World Cup classification. It was all very strange“.
The Ballon d’Or was dedicated to his father, who died 10 years ago: “When this misfortune happened, I decided to take one more step in everything. My father gives me energy. Despite the fact that there are bad and hard moments both personally and professionally, I cling to the positive. This is very short and you have to do everything and the sooner the better“.

Pablo Motos was interested in the weight of the Ballon d’Or and Alexia recognized that it weighed a lot. Thus, “It was in the trunk of my car, because every day they made me carry it up and down. And it’s a very heavy one,” Putellas explained between laughs.
