It was a very special night for the Blaugrana captain, who chose for the occasion a very elegant dress Jesus Peiró, the bridal firm that dressed Sandra Gago at her wedding to Feliciano López. Putellas was gorgeous in black with gold sparkles, a nod to the award itself, as the firm itself has commented. The look stands out for its double veiled necklines and embroidered straps with sprinkled crystals, highlighting the asymmetry of the dress with a large side ruffle.

A magical dress for an athlete who is pure magic: “I am very happy to be here. When I won it last year I decided to improve to serve my team. Without my teammates this would not be possible. I appreciate them very much and it is a privilege to be his partner”, she said in her speech. “When I broke my knee I thought that this was not going to be possible because the most recent thing was going to prevail. I miss feeling like a footballer a lot,” the player commented excitedly, named top scorer in the Champions League with 11 goals.

It has been the fourth edition of the women’s Ballon d’Or, which premiered its record in 2018 with the Norwegian Ada Hegerberg. In 2019, the American Megan Rapinoe took over from her and Alexia relieved her in 2021 to repeat now. And it is not the first record that Putellas has broken this year: on August 25, she won the award for Best UEFA Women’s Player for the second consecutive yeara historical fact.
