Celebrities turn to the networks to show their solidarity and empathy with the thousands of people affected by the serious and destructive earthquakes that have devastated some regions of Turkey and Syria. The earthquakes have so far claimed the lives of 9,600 people and have left more than 45,000 injured. The scenario of destruction, rubble and chaos, together with winter, makes rescue tasks difficult. Antonio Banderas sends “a supportive hug” from his Twitter. They have also joined the gesture of support Alejandro Sanz, the actress and presenter Ellen DeGeneres and Leo Messi’s wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, among others. The fastest response, that of José Andrés. The Asturian chef, Princess of Asturias Award winner, has launched the emergency device of his NGO World Central Kitchen.
Banderas has shared words of affection towards the Turks and the Syrians on their networks, “because of the tragedy that has struck them in the last few hours.”
