Albert Torres suffers a fracture in the distal radius of his left hand

MADRID, 12 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Spanish cyclist Albert Torres has suffered a fracture of the distal radius of his left hand, caused by his hard fall last Saturday during the Madison event of track cycling at the Paris Olympic Games.

According to the Royal Spanish Cycling Federation on Monday, “the Menorcan cyclist has undergone various medical tests on his return to Spain which have confirmed the diagnosis and which will require him to rest for a couple of weeks before returning to training.”

Torres, who had finished fourth and was close to the podium in the omnium event, fell to the ground at high speed during the final stages of the Olympic madison after colliding with a runner who had fallen. Despite the strong blow and the pain, the Balearic ‘pistard’ tried to return to the competition to finish it alongside Sebastián Mora, but the judges prevented him from doing so.
