The Spanish tennis player Albert Ramos has successfully completed his debut this Monday in the tournament in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), in the ATP 500 category and played on clay, by beating the Peruvian Juan Pablo Varillas in his first round match (3- 6, 6-3, 7-5).
The Catalan, current world number 96, had to recover from an adverse first set in which his opponent took a 2-0 lead. He responded with a counterbreak and wasted two break points in the seventh game, just before the South American broke his serve again.
Already in the second round, two breaks, one by his rival, allowed him to equalize the contest and take it to the third set, where he recovered from the initial 3-0 loss with two other breaks that served to turn the game around. and put an end to it after two hours and 43 minutes of play.
Now, Ramos will face in the second round the fourth seed in the Brazilian tournament and number 22 in the ATP ranking, the Argentine Francisco Cerúndolo, who defeated his compatriot Francisco Comesaña in three sets (6-1, 1-6, 6-2) .
