The director of FC Barcelona training football, Albert Capellas, will be in charge of directing Barça B to replace Sergi Barjuan, who this Thursday relieved Ronald Koeman in the first team, according to the Culé entity in a statement.
“Albert Capellas, current deputy to the direction of formative football will occupy the bench in the next matches while Sergi Barjuan directs the first team temporarily,” said FC Barcelona after the sudden dismissal of Koeman at dawn this Thursday.
Capellas will take charge of the Barça subsidiary in the match that the team will play this Friday (9:00 pm) in Linares, corresponding to matchday 10 of the First RFEF. Albert Capellas will be assisted by Albert Peris, third coach of the subsidiary.
It is not the first time that Albert Capellas was part of Barça B as he was an assistant to Quique Costas between 1999 and 2003. Later he was coordinator of FC Barcelona training football until 2010, when he undertook various experiences as an assistant on international benches in Vitesse, Maccabi Tel Aviv, Borussia Dortmund, Brondby, Chongqing Dangdai Lifan and in the last stage he was coach of the Denmark Under-21 team until June 2021.
