The Barça captains continue to make gestures with the economic situation of Barça. After Gerard Piqué, and as announced by Ferran Correas, a journalist from L'Esportiu, Jordi Alba has accepted a “considerable” salary cut, in addition to the postponement of payments to which they have been giving the go-ahead for months. Jordi Alba, who had had some tension with the board, and whose meetings with the club Joan Laporta had reported in detail last week, understands the situation of the club and takes a step that, even after the one taken by Piqué, is valued by the entity.
Barça expects to announce shortly the agreements with Sergio Busquets and Sergi Roberto. They are two different cases. Sergi Roberto announced in an interview with La Vanguardia that he was going to extend his contract with the Barça club, which ends his contract in 2022. The one of Busquets can be something more tricky, because he has two years of contract left. But, as Laporta announced, Busquets' intention is to help the club and, obviously, he will not be the captain who is left off the hook.
