Alavés achieves its first victory of this season away from home at the Pizjuán

2-3 for the Vitorian team against a frustrated Sevilla

MADRID, 12 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Deportivo Alavés won this Friday 2-3 on their visit to Sevilla FC, with a late goal from Rubén Duarte from a set piece, in the opening match of matchday 20 in LaLiga EA Sports, which meant for the Vitorian team its first victory league this season away from home.

At the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium, the tension was felt for the start of the second round of the competition. And things got worse after Nahuel Tenaglia's 0-1, scored in the 26th minute after pushing a ball into the net by Jon Guridi from a corner.

Kike García made it 0-2 in the 40th minute, with a right-footed volley inside the area that tripped Kike Salas, changing the trajectory of the shot and beating goalkeeper Marko Dmitrovic. The Sevilla team reacted with Rafa Mir's 1-2 score (70'), finishing with his chest a cross from Suso Fernández with his left foot from a changed wing.

Hope in the Pizjuán came with a penalty from Carlos Benavídez on Mariano Díaz in an angry action. Lucas Ocampos converted that maximum penalty, giving himself the luxury of looking at the stands just before the ball entered the goal, but the 2-3 score soured the Seville stadium.

Just after the 90th minute, Samu Omorodion extended a lateral foul with a header so that his teammate Rubén Duarte also scored that goal with a header. This harvest helped Alavés reach 20 points and distance itself from the lower zone, where Sevilla continues with 16 points in its locker.
