MADRID, 29 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Al Sadd has indicated this Friday that his coach, the Spanish Xavi Hernández, has two more years of contract with the Qatari entity “in relation to the information that is circulating” about a possible exit towards FC Barcelona after the dismissal of Ronald Koeman.
“The club’s administration confirms that Xavi is linked to two more years on his contract and is focused on playing the team’s next matches to maintain first place in the league and defend the title,” Al Sadd said on his Twitter account, accompanying the information with a photo of Xavi directing the club.
The name of the former Tarrasa midfielder has been related to Barça before Koeman’s departure, even last summer it was already heard that it was Joan Laporta’s idea for the new project. The Blaugrana club has not yet manifested itself and has chosen to choose Sergi Barjuan, from the subsidiary, to train on an interim basis.
Xavi Hernández left FC Barcelona at the end of the 2014/15 season and signed for Al Sadd, a club where he played four seasons and began his career as a coach. Since then he has already won a Qatar League and two Emir Cups.
