ACS, through its distributor Eleia Energía, has begun to compete with Iberdrola, Endesa and Repsol in the sale of electricity for homes, as confirmed by the company itself at the Genera fair.
For two weeks, the company is already selling electricity to small consumers with which it enters to compete directly with the great companies of the sector with almost half a year of delay on the initial forecasts of the construction company.
Florentino Pérez expected the company to begin its market launch in September, but the marketer had to delay its launch until it could have the systems ready and only began to capture data from potential customers to start its takeoff.
In the first weeks, Eleia has worked to see that the systems work well with employee contracts, but she already receives invoices by email to be able to raise offers, although she has not yet publicized them on her website.
The ACS group marketer obtained the approval of the company by the National Commission of Markets and Competition and put into operation its website, as well as a customer service telephone and an email service, fully operational to the Waiting for the starting shot that occurs now.
ACS Industrial aspires to make Eleia one of the top ten players in Spain in six years and for this it shows on its website the muscle of the projects it has carried out in recent years and ensures that it has 70 years of history, with 800 projects that are 100 percent renewable.
The company planned to manage the electricity generated by its renewable assets, but the group has sold most of it to Galp and now strives to continue building plants.
ACS had a portfolio of 14 GW. Of this amount, they should have 3.2 GW installed in 2021 (those sold to Galp), with 1.3 GW more in 2022 and an additional portfolio of 5.2 GW for the following years.
Eleia aims to reach 100,000 residential customers, 50,000 SMEs and 100 large accounts in 2025 to rank among the ten largest merchants in the country.
Currently, 60% of ACS's renewable portfolio is concentrated in Spain. The forecasts of the group are that Eleia will close 2019 with a turnover of 95 million euros. The turnover will rise to 626 million in 2022 and multiply to 1,200 million in 2025. It also expects to reach an ebitda return above 6%.
For ACS, the marketing industry is concentrated in less than 20 companies. The traditional ones have 27 million customers, who have a 78% market share that markets 186 TWh, while the non-traditional ones – around 16 consolidated companies and 250 small ones – have two million customers that consume 68 TWh with 22 % share
Eleia arrives at the market in the middle of a commercial battle for the fall in wholesale market prices. The power companies, Endesa, Iberdrola, Naturgy have increased their offers, while oil companies such as Repsol and Cepsa continue to offer discounts on fuels or players like Pepephone offering joint rates with telecommunications.
