Acosta bets on going up to MotoGP with KTM

MADRID, 21 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish Moto2 rider Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Ajo) has in mind to climb to the premier class with KTM, respectful of the manufacturer that opted for him at a crucial moment in his career, according to what his manager, Albert Valera, pointed out on Wednesday.

Acosta, champion last Sunday in Germany and second in the World Championship, is one of the names in the MotoGP World Championship rider market for the upcoming 2024 season. “We want to give KTM the first opportunity to join them in MotoGP , beyond the options contemplated in the agreement between both parties,” Valera said in an interview with Motorsport.com.

“KTM has always been very good to Pedro, and he is very grateful,” he added. Weeks ago, the option of continuing for another year in Moto2 had been on the table, as the various parties involved admitted, but after Mugello and the Sachsenring, Acosta’s future seems to be beginning to look to the premier class.

Acosta’s entourage highly appreciates the work done by KTM in the premier class, so a change now “would be a pity.”
