Aaron Rodgers wishes Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes escapes being penalized for yelling at officials over a crucial offside call in the defeat to the Bills, but agrees the refs made ‘the right decision’.

Aaron Rodgers told ESPN that NFL officials at Sunday’s Chiefs-Bills game was right to flag Kansas City over offsides on the most important play of the game.

However, the New York Jets quarterback thinks Patrick Mahomes can avoid a fine for his angry reaction to the call.

The hurt quarterback for the New York Jets told Pat McAfee during their weekly sit-down on ESPN, “I hope little happens; I hope they do nothing.”

Even though Rodgers knows that yelling at the refs can get you in trouble, he said that he hoped Mahomes wouldn’t get in trouble for what he said to the officials sitting on the Arrowhead Stadium bench.

Reports say that Mahomes could get a fine from the NFL because he criticized the officials’ choice to flag Chiefs Kadarius Toney, a wide receiver, on the play that decided the game.

Rodgers said, “I think it was the right call.” “I get how frustrating it is.” I’d be mad too. That means a great play is over, but the way the rule was interpreted was clearly right.

The event happened at the end of the Bills’ 20–17 win in Kansas City on Sunday. Travis Kelce, a tight end for the Chiefs, caught a 25-yard pass to Mahomes and then hit Toney on a cross-field lateral, which looked like the game-winning score.

After Patrick Mahomes was criticized for his rant at the refs during Sunday’s game between the Kansas City Chiefs as well as the Buffalo Bills, Aaron Rodgers stood by him.

Rodgers told Pat McAfee of ESPN’s on-air show every week why he thinks the NFL won’t be too hard on Mahomes.

Rodgers said, “I hope nothing happens; I hope they don’t do anything.” The NFL is currently deciding whether to fine Mahomes for his angry outburst at the refs after they called Kadarious Toney offensively offside on what could possibly have been the game-winning play. At the time, Kansas City was down 20–17 to Buffalo in the tardy fourth quarter.

This is why officials infrequently flag offsides: receivers can check with the side judge before the ball gets snapped to make sure they’re set up onsides.

Before the play, Toney looked like he checked with officials, but he appeared to wait for an answer.

It’s not clear if a side judge told him he was offside, but the receiver was clearly lined in the neutral zone during the play.

It wasn’t merely a play, either. Toney set up offsides in the same way at other times during the game and got away with it each time.

Rodgers said, “I think there are some rules that are pretty clear-cut.” ‘One of those is lying on your side.’

Rodgers agreed that Kelce’s smart lateral pass to Toney was “awesome,” but he also said, “The meaning of the rule had been obviously correct.”

While yelling at the refs, Patrick Mahomes dropped his hat. The Chiefs lost 20–17 to the Bills on Sunday.

Last week, Kansas City lost for the Green Bay Packers 27–19. They needed to win this game so they wouldn’t drop to 8–5, which they did. A late offside call was a big part of the loss.

That’s a terrible way to lose all football game, but it was even worse because their opponents, who play in the same AFC conference to be them, also went 7-6 and made it clear that they should make the playoffs.

All of this was too much for Patrick Mahomes to handle. He couldn’t believe they were defeated in this way, so he yelled at the officials.

We need to look at the game and the situation again to understand why the quarterback was so angry.

From 17-7 down, Patrick Mahomes got his team back in the game to tie it. Buffalo had a chance to score a touchdown that would have won the game. They were only ahead by three points.

This is what the quarterback felt he did when he hit Travis Kelce during the two-minute warning.

The tight end didn’t go down and instead threw a cross to Kadarius Toney, a, who ran it all through to the end zone.

The play was called back because the scorer was lined in the neutral zone. The Chiefs lost the game because of the injury that he chose to give himself.

No matter how mad Patrick Mahomes was, the videos make it clear that the refs made the right call.

He might have been mad that the play wasn’t called dead immediately following the snap and that the refs let them keep going with it.

If they hadn’t blown the whistle right away, the quarterback may have thought about running the identical play again on the next down.

Instead, he couldn’t because the Buffalo Bills had witnessed it happen and were ready for it.
