A test that is worth a Champions

Barcelona passed the second round of tests for the coronavirus this Thursday before training – the first one was called last Saturday- supervised by UEFA. This time there were three tests: apart from the PCR, an immunological test and a blood test were performed. The tests took place 48 hours before the match against Naples at the Camp Nou to have enough time to discard the player in the case of testing positive.

Definitely, it is the most important serological evaluation that FC Barcelona has done so far because in the event that any positive is detected, their presence would be totally ruled out both for the match against Naples and for the final round of Lisbon: The protocol requires the player to be in confinement for a minimum of 14 days.

It will not be until Friday when the club knows the results of the tests. And is that in case there was a positive in the squad, the player would no longer train on Friday in the pre-match against Naples, beginning his period of solitary confinement.

Taking into account the many casualties Quique Setién faces facing the game against Naples: Arturo Vidal and Sergio Busquets, sanctioned, Arthur, expedited, Umtiti, injured, Braithwaite, not registered, and Dembélé, in the process of recovering from a long-term injury, it seems more than evident that any other setback would be deadly for the aspirations of FC Barcelona to win the Champions League.
