MADRID, 10 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –
This afternoon, the headquarters of the Delegated Sports Area hosted the 5th edition of the San Silvestre Vallecana Vertical Race, a relay race in which the eight participating teams, made up of six people each, climbed eight floors to finish in the roof.
In this Vertical, which was attended by the delegate councilor for Sports, Sonia Cea, municipal workers, referees from the Madrid football federation, as well as sponsors of the race and fans registered through social networks competed. Outside of the competition, a team of firefighters from the Madrid City Council also participated, demonstrating how to beat their own record year after year, with 4 minutes and 33 seconds.
The winning team, with 5 minutes and 14 seconds, was formed by Adrián Pinilla, Miriam Martín, Alicia Espinosa, Álvaro de la Iglesia, Jorge Renilla and Daniel López, who received free registration for the Nationale-Nederlanden San Silvestre Vallecana 2025, plus a trophy.
The best male individual record was for Carmelo Enciso, with 39 seconds and 72 hundredths, and the female record was for Salud Díaz, from the Delegate Sports Area team, with 51 seconds and 52 hundredths.
This race is an initiative framed within the celebration of the traditional Nationale-Nederlanden San Silvestre Vallecana, the ten kilometer race with which the capital traditionally closes the year every December 31 and which this 2024 celebrates its 60th anniversary. Previously, on the 28th, the San Silvestre Mini will be celebrated.
