A majority of clubs, including Madrid and Barça, ask CSD to play on Mondays and Fridays

While the titular magistrate of the commercial court number 2 of Madrid, Sánchez Magro, studies the 'time case' by which the Federation and LaLiga continue to face each other, a good part of the First and Second professional clubs have addressed the Superior Council of Sports by letter to request that it can be played on Mondays and Fridays. As revealed by El Larguero de la Cadena SER, among these “more than 30 clubs” that have addressed the CSD are “Real Madrid and Barcelona.”

The Council, as AS has learned, recognizes that they have received many petitions in recent days, without specifying names or the exact number, but assures that they have not addressed this issue from the inside as it is a matter that is currently being prosecuted and that , by the way, could be resolved this week. The judge who summoned the parties in the hearing on October 2 promised to have the sentence ready by last Friday, but in the end it has been delayed and hopes to have the car ready before the weekend. LaLiga while it continues to set schedules in those time slots although later in the end it modifies them.

Several clubs acknowledge to this newspaper that, especially at the present time that Spain lives, it is key that they can play several days around the weekend (Friday and Monday) and not just two (Saturday and Sunday) in order to have greater visibility on television and counteract the losses of having empty stadiums. In addition, they consider that it is the most logical thing, as was done at the end of last season, as a gesture of solidarity with the fans, and that as a lesser evil the precautionary measures requested by the employer in court should be granted. The Federation, however, understands that the competitions are theirs and that playing on Fridays and Mondays harms, among other things, professional football. The solution seems to be economical and would only yield with a compensation to be able to distribute in amateur football. The CSD has powers to mediate, but after blowing up the Viana Pact it is being more cautious than the clubs want by letter.
