A Madrid court shields the Super League against FIFA and UEFA

The Superliga has shielded its back against threats from UEFA and FIFA and has resorted to the courts to defend itself in a preventive manner. This morning the Commercial Court 17 of Madrid, at the request of the Super League, has adopted very precautionary measures, by which it prohibits FIFA, UEFA and all their associated federations or leagues, to adopt any measure that prohibits, restricts, limits or conditions in any way, directly or indirectly, the launch of the Super League as well as any sanctioning or disciplinary measure against the participating clubs, their players and managers.

The decision has been adopted after the members of the Super League have requested the “unprecedented precautionary measure” to prevent soccer regulatory bodies from taking any action that might go against the new competition.

The judge orders FIFA and UEFA to refrain from issuing communications that hinder the creation of the Super League, to exercise “sanctioning measures” against 'dissident' clubs not even in the field of threat and to exclude the aforementioned clubs from national or international competitions.
