A resident of Granada has denounced an alleged scam of at least 170,000 euros by a person who posed as Brad Pitt. It would have reached him through the Internet. The conversations reached such a point that the woman even thought that she had a romantic relationship with the Oscar-winning actor.
As reported to EFE this Thursday by the lawyer Antonio Estella Aroza, from the Esya Legal office, the middle-aged woman contacted a kind of actor’s fan club at the beginning of 2022 through Facebook.
From then on, they began a series of continuous interactions over time that would supposedly lead her to directly contact Brad Pitt himself.
In this way, the lawyer has recounted, conversations began with the alleged fraudster, who managed to gain the trust, friendship and even the love of the victim, with a relationship “analogous” to that of a couple.
The person who allegedly defrauded the neighbor from Granada even promised to come to Spain and record a movie together, at which point he began to demand different amounts of money through bank transfers to cover the expenses derived from these activities.
During this period, the person who was posing as Angelina Jolie’s ex sent her photos of her supposed attendance at red carpets for premieres and even some photomontage with a message directly addressed to the woman.
Suspecting that one could be the victim of a scam, since the promises of the alleged actor did not come true, the woman decided to initiate legal measures.
Estella Aroza has detailed that the amount of money scammed could exceed 170,000 euros, for which she has filed a legal complaint – still pending processing – for possible crimes of fraud, identity theft and even money laundering.
