Barça changes the ethical code to hire Laporta's sister

Controversy at Barça. The club modified its ethical code on May 31, which prevented a direct relative of an executive from having a relationship with Barça, and on June 4 Maite Laporta, president's sister, Joan Laporta, was appointed as the new head of Inclusion and Diversity.

The modification of the text has generated quite a stir in the offices of Barça and its workers, since where Before it was clear in the ethical code that there could be no contracts up to the fourth degree of consanguinity, the matter has now been left in an ethereal “ascendants or descendants”, that is, parents or children of the directors. Maite is Joan Laporta's sister.

As explained by the journalist Martí Molina in the newspaper Ara, The Laporta board of directors justifies the change of the ethical code because the previous one was too restrictive. The club also explains that the Compliance Officer has approved the appointment.
