Hazard trains solo with Belgium

The captain of the Belgium team, Eden Hazard, trained this Tuesday separately from the group in the first full training session in the “Red Devils” concentration to prepare for the Eurocup.

The Real Madrid forward, who on Monday acknowledged at a press conference that in the last game with the club he still felt pain in one leg, had indicated that he was contemplating doing a few days of individual training to recover.

Hazard, who has lived two years plagued by injuries, has not played for Belgium since December 2019 but upon reaching the concentration of the team led by Spanish Roberto Martínez said that he is confident in being able to be at the highest level for Belgium's first game at the European Championship on June 12 against Russia.

Benfica defender Jan Vertonghen and Vissel Kobe defender Thomas Vermaelen also trained outside the group.

Belgium will play a first friendly match against Greece on Thursday, followed by another on Sunday against Croatia, to then start the group stage of the Eurocup.
