No money to fire Koeman

One of the factors that mediate the decision on whether Barcelona should change coach this summer is in the economic section. The Barça box is in one of its worst moments and the decision to do without Koeman would have a huge economic impact It doesn't seem like the club's coffers can hold up at the moment.

Firing Koeman would mean compensation of about 12 million euros. For the remaining year of Koeman's contract, he should receive eight million euros to which must be added the amount that the coach deferred from his salary (almost 43 percent) this season to collaborate with the entity to face the crisis caused by the coronavirus.

Remember that Barcelona still owes Quique Setién compensation for the dismissal of last season after 2-8 in Lisbon in the Champions League against Bayern and amounting to 4 million euros that the Cantabrian coach has claimed through the courts. Since Valverde was fired in January 2020, Barça could pay 30 million euros in compensation only to coaches in a year and a half.
