White yes, Camavinga no

Camavinga's (18-year-old) dream of wearing the Real Madrid shirt is failing. If the white club already had other priorities in the recomposition of its squad, for which the first objective is a great signing (Mbappé or Haaland), the irruption of Antonio Blanco ends up removing the option of the young Frenchman from Rennes, who these days disputes with France the European Under-21 in Slovenia, a final phase in which Spain is also present.

For Real Madrid it has been a respite to see that they have in Blanco (20 years) a substitute for guarantees for Casemiro or even a companion for the Brazilian. In total, there have been four league games played by the youth squad with the first team in which he has proven his worth. It was against Getafe, Cádiz, Betis and Osasuna. The sports management of the white entity has already decided that, unless an irrefutable offer arrives for him, Blanco become part of the first squad. Miguel Gutiérrez is in the same case for the side left.

Blanco's situation directly affects Camavinga. Madrid were closely following the young Stade Rennes midfielder, aware that he is entering his last year of contract and that he can leave at a more than reasonable price. In fact, before the pandemic began, it had been the club's scouting chief, Juni Calafat, who had established contacts with the Camavinga environment. But the pandemic struck and the scene turned upside down and everything was put on hold.

Camavinga changed his representative in the last few months. Before, Mousa Sissoko, the same agent who leads Barcelona's Dembelé, ran his affairs, but the footballer decided to change to Stellar Group, owned by Jonathan Barnett (Bale, Saúl), for more options to sign your next big deal. This change of agent was made on the basis that this same summer Camavinga was going to force his departure from Rennes. But, for now, it seems to be the Premier (and Bayern) who have shown more interest. Not Real Madrid.

The Camavinga representation agency foresees a transfer price (taking into account that it has not had its best season and that in the summer of 2022 it goes free) that does not exceed 40 million euros. The owner of the Rennes, the billionaire Pinault, does not expect to receive less than 60. If there is no agreement to leave this summer, Camavinga would go free in 2022. But a transfer to Madrid is now very difficult with the emergence of Blanco and the renewal of Modric announced.
