Arsenal seek funding to take Odegaard

Mikel Arteta and Arsenal want to stay with Martin Odegaard. This is no secret, but the problem is that the Norwegian's contract requires him to return to Real Madrid, as they signed in January. Zidane's possible departure opens a door for Martin to earn a spot, but neither he nor Arsenal seem content with not meeting again.

So much so that the Gunner club is already looking for financing to be able to undertake a possible purchase of Real Madrid's Nordic midfielder. According to Telegraph reports, Arsenal would be willing to sell Joe Willock to Newcastle and reinvest everything he takes for the young Englishman in taking over the Real Madrid midfielder.

The operation has its conditions, but it seems fundamental for Newcastle. Willock has become one of their biggest players since a transfer from North London. The one from the capital left for Newcastle on February 2, a few days after Odegaard's arrival at Arsenal.. The young man was left without a gap in the Arteta squad and joined the magpies where he has been key with seven goals in thirteen Premier matches.

His name appears at the top of the list of reinforcements in the north while Arsenal see it as a profitable sale of a player who seems to have no space in their roster. The Gunners want to obtain a figure close to 20 million pounds (23 euros) with their sale, but in Newcastle there is reluctance and division.

At Turf Moor, both the squad and coach Steve Bruce see his signing as a priority. In fact, the continuity of Saint-Maximin, star of the club, and that of Bruce himself could be subject to his arrival. Now, everything is in the hands of owner Mike Ashley. The Briton, who has been with the club for sale for a long time, is not very in favor of increasing investment and could stop the operation.

The figures of a possible operation that will take Martin Odegaard to Arsenal have not transpired. The Norwegian is valued, according to Transfermarkt, at 40 million euros and has a contract with Real Madrid until 2023. If the operation does not materialize, Arsenal has its plan B and also moves through Emi Buendía, from Norwich City.

Odegaard looks for his hole

The one from Drammen acknowledged that he will speak with Real Madrid at the end of the season in a public way. At the La Castellana club, Martin fits into the future plans as an interesting piece to bring new life to a midfield in which Casemiro, Kroos and Modric will not be able to last forever.

With Zidane, the Norwegian did not quite fit in and for that reason he left on loan to London. If there is finally a coach replacement, Odegaard would have the opportunity to vindicate himself in Madrid and win the position. In case of leaving, and as reported by Telegraph, it will depend on the money that is entered by Willock and that operation is not expected to be solved in the early stages of the market.

When it comes to his time at Arsenal, Odegaard is highly valued by Arteta, but his goals and assists statistics are his unfinished business. With those from North London, Martin has scored two goals and provided an assist in 19 games.
