As expected, the Appeals Committee confirmed on Wednesday the sanction of two games for Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman, who will not be able to sit on the bench in the game against Atlético de Madrid (Saturday, 4:15 p.m.). The appeal of the Barça club did not prosper and the Committee, which normally follows the Competition guidelines and is known colloquially as “ratification” (it also belongs to the FEF), dismissed the allegations of the Barça club. As reflected by the referee González Fuertes in the Barça-Granada minutes, Koeman used the expression “what a character” to refer to the fourth official of a match in which the Catalans ended up losing 1-2.
In any case, Barcelona will exhaust all legal channels and has already announced that will file an appeal with the Administrative Court of Sport (TAD), in a last-ditch attempt to get Koeman suspended. It would be the only option that the Dutchman could sit on the bench in a decisive match for LaLiga. For now, and as in the game against Valencia, it will be Alfred Schreuder, the disciple of Ten Haag and Nagelsmann who now works with Koeman, who will lead the team on the field., always following the Dutch guidelines.
